ONLY A FOOL SHOULD KNOW Been sailing through the Heartland On
a city set on wheels Up
hills, down dales, through country trails On
the hunt for impossible dreams The
strength of one, though many Kept
the vision fresh and true And
the courage of the wheelers Filled
our hearts with something new. This
tide of fifteen hundred Overflowed
our rivers of pride The
stalwart and the broken Watch
them riding side by side And
the cheers could fill cathedrals As
large as old Times Square If
you stood many miles away You
could hear those thousands cheer. That
crimson tide of wheelers With
miles of wheel on wheel Rode
slowly in the sunlight Down
the boulevard with cheers and tears unveiled There’s
a secret in the mission Seems
a new era has just begun It
is quietly being told to everyone Simply
good to be human An
act of faith to be kind Bind
humans and kindness together Transform
the whole world to one mind.
